Emerging Technologies in Intelligent Industry (ETII) is published through the INATGI academic publishing platform.

The publisher provides the journal with publishing infrastructure, digital hosting, manuscript-management technology, production support, metadata services, DOI-related infrastructure, preservation support, and other operational services necessary for scholarly publication.

Information concerning the journal, its editorial policies, contact channels, published content, and current publishing arrangements is made available through the journal website.

2. Journal Identity

The journal title is:

ISSN information, once assigned and confirmed, is displayed on the journal website and should correspond to the authoritative records maintained by the relevant ISSN authority.

3. Official Journal Website

The official ETII journal website is hosted on the INATGI publishing platform.

Authors and readers are encouraged to rely on the official journal website for:

4. Publishing and Journal Management Responsibilities

The publishing function and academic editorial function are distinct.

The publisher supports:

• publishing technology;
• website infrastructure;
• production operations;
• metadata management;
• DOI-related services;
• digital preservation arrangements;
• publication-fee administration;
• technical support;
• distribution and accessibility; and
• long-term maintenance of published content.

Academic editors are responsible for scholarly evaluation and publication decisions.

5. Editorial Independence

Publisher personnel, administrative staff, advertisers, sponsors, service providers, or other external parties must not improperly influence individual manuscript decisions.

6. Editorial Structure

ETII's editorial structure includes academic roles designed to provide appropriate subject expertise and independent manuscript evaluation.

These may include:

• Editor-in-Chief;
• Associate Editors;
• Section Editors where applicable;
• Editorial Board Members;
• Guest Editors for approved Special Issues; and
• other academic or methodological advisors where needed.

7. Editorial Board Transparency

ETII seeks to provide accurate public information concerning its editorial leadership and Editorial Board.

Public editorial information may include:

Individuals should be publicly listed as current editorial members only where their editorial appointment has been appropriately established.

8. Peer Review

ETII normally operates a double-blind peer-review process.

Manuscripts that pass initial editorial screening are normally evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise.

Reviewer recommendations inform but do not automatically determine the final editorial decision.

9. Initial Editorial Screening

All manuscripts are subject to editorial screening before external review.

ETII provides immediate open access to published articles.

Authors normally retain copyright in articles published by ETII.

12. Publication Fees

ETII publicly discloses its standard publication charge.

13. Separation of Fees and Editorial Decisions

An author's ability or willingness to pay a publication fee must not influence:

• initial editorial screening;
• reviewer selection;

• rejection.

Financial administration is separate from academic editorial judgment.

14. Publishing Ethics

ETII maintains policies concerning:

15. Competing Interests

Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to disclose relevant financial and non-financial competing interests.

Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where a significant conflict could compromise, or reasonably appear to compromise, impartiality.

16. Submissions from Editors and Editorial Board Members

Editors and Editorial Board Members may submit scholarly work to ETII but receive no preferential treatment.

A submitting editor must be excluded from:

• initial editorial assessment;
• reviewer selection;
• reviewer correspondence;
• editorial discussion; and
• the final publication decision.

Such manuscripts must be handled by an appropriate independent editor.

17. Special Issues and Guest Editors

Special Issues remain part of ETII and are subject to the same standards for peer review, research integrity, editorial independence, conflicts of interest, and publication ethics as regular issues.

Guest Editors operate under the oversight of the journal's permanent editorial leadership.

A Guest Editor must not handle a manuscript where a significant conflict of interest exists.

18. Corrections and Retractions

ETII seeks to maintain an accurate and transparent scholarly record.

Depending on the circumstances, post-publication action may include:

• correction;
• Expression of Concern;
• retraction;
• metadata correction;
• replacement in exceptional circumstances; or
• content removal only in exceptional legal, privacy, security, or safety circumstances.

Retractions and other major notices should remain linked to the original scholarly record.

19. Digital Preservation

ETII maintains long-term digital preservation arrangements through:

• PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN); and
• Portico.

These services provide preservation mechanisms independent of the journal's live website.

20. Author Self-Archiving

ETII permits author self-archiving in accordance with its Open Access & Copyright Policy.

Authors may deposit permitted versions of their work in institutional repositories, disciplinary repositories, personal academic webpages, and other legitimate scholarly repositories.

21. Persistent Identifiers and Metadata

ETII supports structured scholarly metadata and persistent identification of published content.

Where applicable, published articles are assigned DOI identifiers and relevant metadata may be distributed to appropriate scholarly infrastructure, discovery systems, preservation services, and indexing services.

22. Abstracting and Indexing Transparency

ETII seeks to state its abstracting and indexing status accurately.

A database or indexing service should be listed as a current indexing service only after inclusion has been confirmed.

Applications submitted to indexing services, evaluations in progress, planned applications, or technical metadata deposits must not be represented as confirmed indexing.

23. Journal Metrics

ETII seeks to report journal metrics accurately and with sufficient context.

Official metrics issued by recognized indexing or analytics services should not be imitated or represented before they have actually been assigned.

Internal statistics such as submission volume, acceptance rate, review duration, publication time, downloads, or citations should be clearly identified as internal or platform-generated statistics where applicable.

24. Editorial and Review Time Information

Where ETII publishes information concerning editorial or review times, such information should be based on actual journal performance rather than guaranteed processing times.

Review duration may vary according to manuscript complexity, reviewer availability, revisions, and the need for specialist evaluation.

25. Advertising

Advertising, if accepted by the publishing platform, must be clearly distinguishable from editorial and scholarly content.

Advertising arrangements must not influence:

• editorial decisions;
• peer-review outcomes;
• article selection;
• editorial appointments; or
• journal conclusions concerning scientific or technological matters.

26. Sponsorship and External Support

Where a journal activity, Special Issue, conference-linked collection, or other initiative receives material external sponsorship, relevant sponsorship should be disclosed where necessary to preserve transparency.

Sponsors must not control manuscript acceptance or peer-review outcomes.

27. Revenue and Financial Model

ETII operates as an open-access journal and uses an Article Processing Charge model for accepted articles.

Publication-related revenue may support:

• editorial-management infrastructure;
• publishing technology;
• production support;
• metadata services;
• digital preservation;
• website hosting;
• technical maintenance; and
• other publishing operations.

Revenue generation does not override academic editorial independence.

28. Privacy and Personal Information

Personal information collected through the journal platform is used for legitimate scholarly publishing, editorial, administrative, technical, and communication purposes.

Author, reviewer, and reader information should not be used in ways inconsistent with the journal's privacy practices or applicable legal obligations.

29. Confidentiality

Unpublished manuscripts, reviewer reports, editorial correspondence, and confidential research information must be handled responsibly.

Editors, reviewers, staff, and authorized service providers should have access only as required for legitimate editorial and publishing functions.

30. Artificial Intelligence and Transparency

AI systems cannot be listed as authors of ETII articles.

Human authors remain accountable for submitted content, including content created or modified with AI-assisted technologies.

Material use of generative AI or similar systems should be disclosed where required by the journal's policies.

Confidential manuscripts and peer-review materials must not be uploaded to public or unauthorized AI services in a way that compromises confidentiality.

31. Contact and Communication

ETII maintains an official journal contact page through which authors, reviewers, readers, editors, and other stakeholders may communicate with the journal.

Authors should rely on official journal and publisher communication channels when responding to requests concerning manuscripts, fees, editorial decisions, or publishing services.

32. Complaints and Appeals

Authors and other stakeholders may raise legitimate concerns concerning:

• peer review;
• editorial procedure;
• publication ethics;
• conflicts of interest;
• publication fees;
• copyright;
• corrections or retractions; or
• other journal practices.

Complaints should be evaluated fairly and, where appropriate, independently from persons directly involved in the disputed matter.

33. Misleading Publishing Practices

ETII seeks to avoid misleading representations concerning:

• journal indexing;
• impact factors or citation metrics;
• editorial-board membership;
• review times;
• acceptance guarantees;
• publication guarantees;
• publisher identity;
• publication fees;
• copyright arrangements;
• digital preservation; or
• journal affiliations.

The journal does not guarantee acceptance, indexing, citation performance, or inclusion in any external database.

34. External Databases and Indexing Services

Indexing and abstracting databases operate independently and determine inclusion according to their own criteria and procedures.

ETII cannot guarantee acceptance by Scopus, Web of Science, Ei Compendex, DOAJ, or any other external indexing or evaluation service.

Any confirmed indexing status should be reported accurately on the journal's Abstracting & Indexing page.

35. Journal Continuity

ETII seeks to preserve published scholarly content even if publishing arrangements, technology, organizational structures, or journal operations change.

Independent digital preservation through PKP PN and Portico forms part of this continuity strategy.

36. Policy Updates

ETII may periodically update journal policies to reflect:

• developments in scholarly publishing standards;
• research-integrity requirements;
• changes in publishing technology;
• legal or regulatory requirements;
• changes in preservation arrangements;
• changes in open-access practices;
• changes in journal operations; or
• feedback from the scholarly community.
