Publisher Transparency Statement

1. Purpose

This statement sets out how Trends and Reviews in Medicine and Biomedical Engineering (TRMBE) and its publisher, INATGI, meet the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing issued jointly by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME). Each section below corresponds to one of those principles and indicates where the relevant information can be found on the journal website.

2. Journal Name

The journal's full title is Trends and Reviews in Medicine and Biomedical Engineering, abbreviated TRMBE. The title is unique, describes the journal's content accurately, and is not intended to be confused with any other journal. The journal is identified by Online ISSN 3068-1863.

3. Website

The journal website, https://inatgi.net/index.php/trmbe, is operated on the Open Journal Systems platform. It contains the journal's Aims and Scope, Author Guidelines, Peer Review Policy, Open Access and Copyright Policy, Publication Fee Policy, Publishing Ethics statement, Publication Malpractice Statement, Archiving Policy, Editorial Structure and Governance Model, Editorial Team, and contact details. The site does not contain misleading information and does not imitate the website of any other journal or publisher.

4. Publishing Schedule

TRMBE publishes four issues per year. Accepted articles are published in the next scheduled issue. The publishing schedule is stated on the journal website and is adhered to; any change is announced in advance.

5. Archiving

The journal's content is preserved in the PKP Preservation Network and in Portico, so that it remains accessible if the journal ceases publication or the publisher's systems fail. Details are given in the Archiving Policy.

6. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their articles. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0), which is stated on every article page and in every PDF. Authors may deposit any version of their article in any repository without embargo. Details are given in the Open Access and Copyright Policy.

7. Access

TRMBE is a fully open-access journal. All content is freely available to everyone immediately upon publication, without registration or payment. The journal has no subscription, no paywall, and no embargo period.

8. Ownership and Management

TRMBE is owned and published by INATGI, the Institute of Advanced Technology and Green Innovation LLC, a limited liability company registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States of America. Registered address: 2807 N Parham Rd, Ste 320 #6105, Henrico, VA 23294, USA. Telephone: +1 757-407-6474. The publisher is responsible for the journal's production, hosting, financial management, and legal compliance. The publisher does not take part in editorial decisions on individual manuscripts. The relationship between the publisher and the editorial team is described in the Editorial Structure and Governance Model.

9. Governing Body and Editorial Team

The journal is led by an Editor-in-Chief, supported by Associate Editors and an Editorial Board of recognized experts in medicine and biomedical engineering. The full names and affiliations of all members of the editorial team are published on the Editorial Team page, which is kept current. Individuals are listed only with their consent and only if they actively contribute to the journal. Contact details for the Editorial Office are given on the Contact page and at the end of this statement.

10. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts considered for publication undergo single-blind peer review by at least two independent expert reviewers in each round. The process, the criteria reviewers apply, the timelines authors can expect, and the handling of manuscripts submitted by editors are described in the Peer Review Policy. The journal does not guarantee acceptance of any manuscript and does not offer accelerated review in exchange for payment.

11. Author Fees

The journal charges an article processing charge of USD 500 per accepted manuscript, payable after acceptance. There are no submission fees and no other charges. The fee, the payment method, and the journal's waiver and discount policy are stated in full in the Publication Fee Policy, which is accessible before authors submit. Fee waivers are decided independently of the editorial process and have no influence on editorial decisions.

12. Publication Ethics and Handling of Misconduct

The journal follows the COPE Core Practices. The responsibilities of authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher are set out in the Publishing Ethics statement. The definition of malpractice, the procedures for investigating allegations, and the sanctions that may be applied are set out in the Publication Malpractice Statement. Corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions are issued in accordance with COPE guidelines and are permanently linked to the articles concerned.

13. Conflicts of Interest

Authors are required to declare all relevant conflicts of interest and sources of funding in every manuscript. Reviewers and editors declare conflicts of interest and do not take part in the review or decision of manuscripts in which they have a conflict. Manuscripts submitted by members of the editorial team are handled independently by another editor. The full policy is set out in the Publishing Ethics statement and the Editorial Structure and Governance Model.

14. Revenue Sources

The journal's sole source of revenue is the article processing charge paid for accepted manuscripts. The journal receives no subscription income, institutional subsidy, advertising revenue, or sponsorship. The publisher declares that editorial decisions are not influenced by revenue considerations and that the number of articles accepted is not tied to financial targets.

15. Advertising

TRMBE does not currently carry advertising on its website or in its articles. Should the publisher decide to accept advertising in future, an advertising policy will be published stating what types of advertisements are accepted, who makes decisions about them, and confirming that advertising is kept entirely separate from editorial content and does not influence editorial decisions. Advertisements will never be linked to specific articles or targeted according to a reader's behavior.

16. Direct Marketing

The journal's marketing consists of announcements of new issues, calls for papers for special issues, and invitations to review or to join the Editorial Board, sent to individuals who have registered with the journal or whose published work is relevant to the journal's scope. All such communications are accurate, identify the journal and publisher clearly, are not intrusive, and include a means of opting out. The journal does not send unsolicited mass e-mails, does not make misleading claims about indexing or metrics, and does not solicit manuscripts outside its scope.

17. Indexing and Metrics

The journal states on its website only those indexing services and databases in which it is actually included. It does not display impact factors or other metrics that it has not been assigned, and it does not use metrics from services that are not widely recognized. Claims about indexing are updated whenever the journal's status changes.

18. Journal Independence

Editorial decisions are made solely on the basis of scholarly merit and compliance with the journal's policies, by the Editor-in-Chief and the editors acting without interference from the publisher or any third party. The Editor-in-Chief has full authority over the editorial content of the journal and the timing of its publication, as described in the Editorial Structure and Governance Model.
